Founded in 2017, the CarsonStrong™ Foundation was started from a place of deep understanding, care, and personal experience. Our mission is to honor the legacy of Carson Higgins, a courageous soul from our community whose journey taught us about the profound challenges that impact an entire family.
That firsthand knowledge is the heart of our mission. As a dedicated Summit County cancer charity headquartered in Stow, we are proud to serve families throughout the county, from Akron and Cuyahoga Falls to Hudson, Twinsburg, and every home in between. We are committed to improving the quality of life for every family who needs our support in our home community.
How We Support Summit County Families
We are here to help ease the burden, wherever in the county you call home. As a trusted source of Northeast Ohio cancer support, our foundation partners directly with social work teams at local hospitals, including Akron Children’s Hospital. This vital partnership allows us to connect with children and families across Summit County facing a new diagnosis, ensuring they receive support quickly and effectively.

The Gift of Time Together
We give families a chance to breathe and just be together. This program funds a special trip or experience, helping you step away from the stress of hospitals and treatments. It’s about creating moments of pure joy and lasting memories that serve as a source of strength for the road ahead.
Augment Therapy
Fighting cancer takes everything out of a child. We fund engaging therapy options, from game-based Augment Therapy to the healing power of art and music. These tools help lift your child’s spirit and emotional health during long hospital stays.
