Carson received his first Challenge Coin from his Uncle Lee, who was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion that attempts to embody a person and typically signifies a person is a member of an organization. During our trip, many people shared their coins with Carson. He would often challenge them as soon as he could, and loved the coins and the challenge! Carson kept the coins in his St. Jude wallet, his wallet was extremely thick, but he kept it in his front pocket all day, every day! Carson wanted to make a coin representing him, and the things he loved. He was very excited and began designing his coin with us while on our “Trip of a Lifetime.” His original design is found within the coin, and we believe Carson would have cherished this coin. He wanted to send one back as a thank you to each person that shared theirs with him, as well as send them to people who have been special in his life, supporting him with love and kindness. Please accept Carson’s coin, and if Carson was giving it to you, he would challenge you to pay it forward with kindness and love.
