Help us raise $147,000 to bring Augment Therapy to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.
The Carson Higgins Memorial Foundation has committed to providing $147,000 to bring 25 Augment Therapy units to University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.
Founded after the passing of Stow, Ohio residents John and Debbie Higgins’ fourth son, Carson, to neuroblastoma in 2016, the Carson Higgins Memorial Foundation embraces Carson’s legacy of paying it forward by funding programs that enhance the lives of children facing cancer and other life challenges.
Augment Therapy is an exciting pediatric physical therapy tool developed by Chagrin Falls physical therapist and mom Lindsay Watson. Through immersive, fun, virtual play, hospitalized children are encouraged to be active and complete physical therapy exercises. Comprehensive movement metrics are automatically sent to the child’s physical therapist.
University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital piloted the program in 2019 and 2020. It will be the first hospital to implement the program into in-hospital pediatric stays starting this fall.
You can help bring this program to children facing cancer and other illnesses by:
